The Little Flower Congregation traces its beginnings to 19 March 1931 in Mookkannur, approximately seven kilometres northeast of Angamaly, in Kerala.
The community began as the Little Flower Brotherhood, with Joseph Kachira, known as Brother Benedict, and Joseph Nedumpuram, known as Brother Arsenius, admitted by Rev. Fr. Thomas Panat, with permission from Mar Augustine Kandathil, then Archbishop of Ernakulam. Rev. Fr. Basilius is remembered as the founder of the community.
Today, this heritage of faith-inspired service continues to inform the educational mission of the Khrist Jyoti Group of Institutions.
